Healing After Birth
My daughter was born on a beautiful October morning under a bright blue sky. Euphoria washed over me as I held my firstborn in my arms. I feel lucky to say I had the labor of my dreams. I had spent months preparing—reading, researching, building my birth team—and when it was “go time,” everything came together like magic.
But just a few sleepless nights later, once the birth high faded, I found myself slipping into a thick postpartum fog. I didn’t recognize my body, and maybe harder still, I didn’t recognize my mind. No one had warned me how disorienting those first few weeks could feel. Most of my appointments during pregnancy focused on just that: the pregnancy. But what happens to the woman after she steps into motherhood?
Becoming a mother is life-changing, and often life-disrupting. While most postpartum care centers around the baby, many women are left feeling overlooked in their own healing journey. At Everbloom Pelvic Health, we’re here to change that.
We offer whole-body, individualized care for postpartum women, addressing not just physical symptoms, but the roles, routines, and emotional shifts that define this season. Our goal isn’t simply to help you “get back to normal,” but to help you feel whole, connected, and strong in your new role.
The Physical Side of Postpartum: What We Treat
Your body just did something incredible. But that doesn’t mean it’s all smooth sailing. Many postpartum women experience symptoms like:
Urinary Incontinence (Stress + Urge): Leaking when you sneeze, laugh, or run? You’re not alone—and we can help.
Bowel Incontinence + Constipation: These issues are common and often tied to pelvic floor dysfunction, scar tissue, or pressure imbalances.
Pelvic Girdle Pain: Pain in your hips, pubic bone, or tailbone can linger long after delivery and affect movement and sleep.
Diastasis Recti: That separation in your abdominals can impact core strength, posture, and pelvic floor function.
We use hands-on therapy, breathwork, gentle movement, and education to help your body recover and thrive.
It’s Not Just Physical: We Care About Your Mental Health, Too
While we don’t directly treat perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs), we always screen for emotional wellbeing and can connect you with trusted mental health resources.
As a mom of two, I know this journey intimately. After the birth of my first, the emotional fog grew heavier by the day. It wasn’t just exhaustion—I felt like I was unraveling. It took a tearful 3 a.m. phone call to the on-call midwife, and an office visit the next day, for someone to gently tell me: this wasn’t just the baby blues. I was experiencing postpartum anxiety and depression—something no one had prepared me for.
But with my second, I approached postpartum differently. I had a plan, a support system, and the right care in place. That experience was everything my first wasn’t: redemptive, grounding, and deeply healing. You deserve that kind of care, too.
Whole-Person OT for Whole-Hearted Motherhood
As an occupational therapist, my role goes beyond the physical. I help you create sustainable routines and rhythms that support healing and connection. That means:
Helping you establish routines that support healing, sleep, and connection.
Brainstorming ways to reclaim time for yourself while caring for your baby.
Supporting the mother-baby bond with positions and strategies that reduce strain and increase presence.
Reframing roles so you feel confident not just as a mom, but as a whole person.
Your healing matters. You matter.
